On July 16, 2010, a joint petition of the Minnesota State Bar Association and the Lawyers Professional Responsibility Board to amend Rules 1.5 and 1.15, Minnesota Rules of Professional Conduct (MRPC), was filed in the Minnesota Supreme Court. The comment period closed November 22, 2010, with no comments being filed. On December 17, 2010, the Supreme Court prescribed and promulgated the Rules to be effective on July 1, 2011.
